Studying at the Faculty

Law students studying

The Faculty of Law is situated at the university’s South Campus, which it shares with the Faculties of Humanities and Theology. Around 15,000 students are studying one of the more than 100 programmes offered at South Campus, making for a vibrant and diverse student environment.

South Campus is located near the Islands Brygge metro station on Amager. The entire campus environment was developed with education and research in mind. The buildings contain modern auditoriums and educational facilities, including study rooms, quiet zones and comfortable spaces for students where they can immerse themselves in research and learning.

All teaching is conducted as seminars with max. 40 students per class. Both Danish and international students follow the courses offered in English - you will therefore get to meet both Danish and international students.

In addition to classrooms, study spaces and reading rooms, the campus also contains canteens and cafés as well as courtyards and roof terraces for taking breaks or studying in the fresh air. The student-run café ParaKaffen is a cosy environment for group meetings or socialising with your fellow students, and on Fridays it is open late to help you ring in the weekend.

The Faculty is home to around 30 different student societies covering a wide range of topics and interests. Some are scholarly such as the Legal Debate Club and Casus Clima, while others deal with topics pertaining to working with and studying law such as Legal Diversity and Female Jurists. Many societies also focus purely on social activities such as the Legal Running Club, Chess Club or the Faculty football team, FC Culpa. All student societies are open to exchange and guest students, although some may chiefly offer events in Danish.

The European Law Students’ Association is responsible for the Faculty’s buddy programme, and they arrange activities and events for international students throughout the year.

The Legal Debate Club also arranges an international dinner, where international students can meet Danish students who are about to go on exchange abroad.

You can find an overview of all student societies at the university that offer events in English here.
